Spring Pastels featuring McCall M7786

Hi guys! The snow has been melting and the weather is slowly warming up here. I think I’m with many people when I say I’m ready for spring! It feels so nice that the days are finally starting to get longer. It won’t be too long before the bright flowers bloom. Until then I am cheering myself up wearing pastels.

I actually sewed these pants up in January, but I never blogged about them until now. Since I finally wore them outside today I thought I would get some pictures. For some fabric and sewing deets keep reading. I got the fabric at Walmart and it was very inexpensive like $1.50 a yard. Its surprisingly good fabric considering the cost. For the pattern of these wide leg pants I used M7786. I cut out view B in a size 6.

The construction of these pants was very simple. My favorite design element is the flat front waistband. I think it looks much cleaner having the elastic on the back of the waistband.

If you are looking for an easy pair of pants to sew or a good wide leg pant pattern, you will like this one. I like the fit of these pants, so much so that I am looking for black fabric to sew another pair. I don’t have any black wide leg pants in my wardrobe and I think those would make a classy addition. At first I wasn’t sure if I would ever sew any of the other styles featured on this pattern. However after looking online at this pattern I have seen some very cute makes that made me fall in love with the ruffle detail of view D. Overall a very fun pattern and easy sew.
