    #DIY freezer paper stenciling

Hi guys! So back in 2015 I found some Pinterest craft using freezer paper and I still love it. Freezer paper is versatile in that its great for food storage and a ton of surprising crafts. If you’re looking to pick some up check in the area that carries wax paper and tinfoil. While freezer paper does have a waxy side like tradition wax paper, it is different. One of my favorite ways to use freezer paper is by creating a stencil. You can print off designs or sayings online. My rose design is something I drew a couple years ago and decided to do another one. Whatever you decide…

    Gingham crop tie top #s8655

Hi guys! After making my gingham skirt I had the fabric laying around (literally on the ground, don’t judge me) so I figured I would make something else with it. I had recently picked up Mimi G Style pattern s8655 with Simplicity featuring a tie top. Love those for summer. When I first started I had the intention of keeping on the 3/4 length sleeve but as you can see I just left it at the drop shoulder. I love how this turned out and i definitely have plans to make another top in this style. I cut out a size 6 from the pattern. Usually I trace my patterns…

    DIY gingham button skirt

Hi guys! So today’s pattern hack was inspired by my fascination with online ‘window shopping’, Revolve ILY. I came across this chic-y deeky gingham skirt with a high slit and buttons, it was love at first sight. I realized it was an easy DIY too since I had all the materials on hand. I had no similar patterns so I opted for simplicity 8420 as a starting point. I cut the back pieces of the skirt out as usual. I extended the length of all pattern pieces to reach my knee. On my inspo skirt, the front right piece crosses. I cut the right side of the skirt out on…

When the flowers bloom wrap top #S8608

I had no real plan. All I knew is I was going to sew something and it would be beautiful. The embroidered white crepe was my first choice when I looked through my stash. I couldn’t resist this fabric when I saw it on Ebay. When I first saw it I imagined a dress, but another embroidered fabric will find me when I’m ready for that. For the pattern I opted for Simplicity 8608. The size 6 fits my bust well. I extended the length of the bodice about 7in to make it a proper blouse. I thought the flutter sleeves complemented the delicacy of the fabric. The salvage edge…

In all the old familiar places..ft. New Look 6560

I’ve had Billie Holiday’s “I’ll be seeing you” stuck in my head. Something about this shirt gave me nostalgic vibes. So this love story starts, I was on Ebay and found a rainbow stripe cotton voile fabric. Totally gorgeous and my style. But it was shipping from India. Extra shipping charges? Import fees? No thanks. So I looked online shopping within the states. I found these cool toned and warm toned striped cotton voile from Mood Fabrics. I knew I wanted to do a wrap top so I picked up a New Look 6560 pattern from Joann Fabrics. This pattern is notoriously short on the midriff. Most reviews for this…
