Hi guys! Today I’m showing you my latest pattern hack. After seeing so many button dresses online I thought this would be a fun DIY. Who doesn’t love a good wrap dress? Well, I am sure there are some people but maybe the button detail can convince non-lovers. For my dress pattern I used McCall’s pattern M7406 although you could apply this concept to any wrap dress pattern. When I visit my mom in Arizona we go out and do the touristy things and eat at amazing restaurants. But one of my favorite things to do is go out shopping at thrift stores. During my last visit we were doing…

Make Nine
I was inspired by the Instagram community of makers to take part in the Make Nine movement. For my make nine I decided to focus on sewing, although the make nine can be for anything you plan to create. I enjoy looking through all the amazing creations makers show on instagram. I have acquired quite the collection of fabrics over the last year, but I have been hesitant to start sewing with them. Being mostly self taught I haven’t thought my skills were up to par to cut into some of these fabrics I love so much. However, skills are only gained through experience, so here we go! I have…

Velvet Clutch Tutorial
When I was doing some fall fabric shopping I saw this green velvet at Hobby Lobby and fell in love. This fabric gives me all the holiday vibes and I knew right away there were several sewing projects I wanted to make with it. I decided to make a rectangular clutch since I have a ready-made faux suede clutch in the same style that I always reach for. I spent a little extra on a metallic zipper from Joann Fabric and added zipper tabs because I love those little details. I adore the way this clutch turned out. In the outfit pictures below you’ll see I used my clutch for…

DIY Oversized Turtleneck using #S8738
Inspired by fall colors I was shopping for fabric on Ebay. I was specifically looking for a mustard knit. This gorgeous knit fabric came up listed as dark mustard, logan thinks it looks a bit more pumpkin and I may agree with him. Either way I really love that the neutral tone will go with everything in my closet. For my pattern I used Simplicity 8738. I cut out view B which has the option of thumb holes, I opted out of adding those. I debated between the size extra small and small. I ultimately cut out the size small, but the extra small may have been better. This sweater…

DIY Gingham Fleece Jacket using Simplicity 8704
It’s no secret that once fall rolls around I just want to curl up with something cozy. I knew when I felt this luxe fleece at Joann Fabric Stores I wanted to make a half zip jacket. I know I’m not the only one who loves these, fuzzy jackets are always in style through fall and winter. This jacket will definitely take me through fall, winter, and a PNW spring. I snagged some great simplicity patterns from a hobby lobby sale. I used the pattern on the right, Simplicity 8704 for this gingham fleece jacket. The pattern on the left will be for a future project 😉 For 8704 I…
